    Tasting Notes

An aristocrat wine with elegant and personal flavor. With a deep ruby red tending to garnet with age it’s a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Its bouquet is Round, complete and elegant. Has a dry, full and smooth flavor.

The prime quality and structure of this wine demand excellent first courses and risottos with sauces made from game, red meat, and mature spicy cheeses.

    Region of Origin

Located in central Italy along the Tyrrhenian coast, Tuscany is home to some of the world’s most notable wine regions.

Toscana IGT is the most famous – and the most commonly used – of Italy’s Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) titles. The geographical region it indicates is, in short, Tuscany. Toscana IGT wines can be made in any village in any of Tuscany’s 10 provinces.

    The Grapes

Merlot – Sangiovese wines are made from two grape varieties extensively grown and widely appreciated in Italy. Sangiovese is internationally renowned for its well-balanced structure and savory flavors.

Sangiovese almost always plays the dominant role in the blend, with Merlot used to soften the wine’s texture and make it more approachable in its youth. Merlot also adds fruitiness and juiciness to the blend, complementing Sangiovese’s more savory and herbaceous qualities.

    Altezza Winery
    in San Gimignano

In the heart of Tuscany, in San Gimignano—the medieval city of a hundred towers—stands Cantina Altezza.

Perched on a hill that seems to touch the sky, it embodies the very essence of its name: a privileged vantage point from which the gaze drifts across the majestic towers of the city.

Here, where the beauty of nature intertwines with tradition, wine is not just a product but a story of family, passion, and terroir.
